Buddy Share sends it peer-to-peer between you and your buddy, encrypted both ways. We pass the blobs through our infrastructure, but we can't read them.

Claim a PIN

Open Buddy Share, tap Claim PIN. The app auto-generates an opaque 8-character PIN (format: XXXX-XXXX) unique to you. That's your handle. No email, no phone number, no name required — and the format is random enough that nobody can guess or enumerate other captains' PINs.

Share With a Buddy

Send your PIN to anyone you trust — text, email, written on a napkin. They open Buddy Share, tap Add Buddy, type your PIN. Done.

See Each Other

Your buddy's pin shows up on your map in their assigned color. Live position, waypoints, trip status, sync time — refreshed at your chosen interval (1 min, 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr).

Disconnect Anytime

Tap Remove Buddy. The share stops, your encrypted blob gets deleted from S3, the data flow ends. No "delete account" form, no waiting period, no nonsense.

If we wanted to know what's inside, we'd have to break encryption we didn't write the keys for. We aren't built that way and we don't have the keys.

You decide how often

Battery is finite. So is the value of refreshing every 30 seconds when you're trolling at 2 mph.

Tournament Mode (1 min)

Every minute. Pin moves smoothly. Battery costs more but worth it for active partner work.

Active (5 min)

Default. Picks up real movement, won't drain your phone before lunch. Good for most family trips and club outings.

Casual (15 / 30 min / 1 hr)

For longer trips, ferry rides, all-day excursions. Confirms position checkpoints without polling every minute.
